*Videoconferencing Introduction

Video conferences provide you and your students an opportunity to learn and interact with another school or classroom. Video conferencing technology enables you to connect to students around the world. There are many ways to hold an interactive video conferences at the primary grade level. These include:

  • Classroom-to -Classroom Collaborations- These collaborations involve two classrooms connecting with each other to share information. Each class prepares something to "teach" or share. Students learn from each other while learning how to communicate and appreciate differences in appearance, culture, traditions, language, dialects, and countries. Students in the primary grades can use video conferencing to work on collaboration projects, show-and-tell, informal chats (helps build communication skills of ELLs), reporting the news, guest experts, guest visitors, support students at home on extended illness, virtual field trips, and competitions (spelling bee, etc.)
